Teaching Scholarships in South Dakota

  • Annis I. Fowler/Kaden Scholarship

    Entering freshman at BHSU, DSU, NSU, or USD; 3.0 high school GPA; intent to major in elementary education.

  • Bush Foundation Teacher Scholarship

    Available at University of South Dakota; must show intent to major in a teacher education program.

  • Dakota Corps Scholarship Program

    Graduate from South Dakota high school; 2.8 high school GPA; meet score requirements for ACT or SAT; attend a participating South Dakota college; major in a critical need occupation, which are designated each year by the Department of Labor and the Dakota Corps Scholarship Board and often include education specialties; commit to work in a critical need occupation in South Dakota for as many years as the scholarship was received, plus one year.

  • Phi Delta Kappa Prospective Educator Scholarships

    Intend to major in education or be enrolled in a college education program; must be a member of a Future Educators Association, be the child or grandchild of a Kappan, have a reference letter from a Kappan, or be an undergraduate member of a Future Educators Association or Phi Delta Kappa chapter; available nationwide.

  • Ramia Boersma Scholarship

    High school senior or college sophomore; son or daughter of member of the South Dakota Education Association or National Education Association; meet academic requirements; be accepted or enrolled in a South Dakota college or university’s teacher prep program.

  • Haines Memorial Scholarship

    Enrolled in South Dakota public university; sophomore, junior, or senior; declared major in teacher education program; 3.5 GPA.
