Teaching Scholarships in Illinois

  • Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois

    Must be a high school or college student at public or non-public school or university in Illinois; earn their bachelor’s at one of the 53 Illinois universities participating in the program; obtain Illinois teacher certification, and teach in an Illinois school of need for five years.

  • Illinois Special Education Teacher Tuition Waiver Program

    Must be in the upper half of an approved high school’s graduating class and taken the ACT or SAT I; enrolled or accepted for enrollment at a public four-year college in Illinois as an undergraduate or graduate seeking certification in the area of special education.

  • Minority Teachers of Illinois (MTI) Scholarship Program

    Must be a African American, Hispanic American, Asian American, or Native American student; high school graduate or hold a General Educational Development certificate; enrolled or accepted for enrollment at an Illinois institution of higher education in a course of study that will qualify you to be certified by the Illinois State Board of Education to teach preschool, elementary, or secondary school.

  • Illinois Troops toTeachers

    Offers financial support for both the certification process and for employment in a high need school; must teach in a district or school of need for three years.
